LIVING IN BALANCE GROUP
Moving From a Life of Addiction to a Life of Recovery
With substance abuse disorders, CCC’s Living in Balance program centers on sets of interactive client worksheets that teach, engage, and motivate clients. The living in balance series includes 3 curricula: Core Program, Recovery Management and Co-Occurring Disorders. The program provides a client education while also addressing issues a client may face in early recovery. Clients are educated on the biological effects of substance abuse, co-occurring mental health issues, triggers, and relapse prevention. Grief and loss, medication assisted treatment, social and family issues, self-help, and various other topics covered also.

BODY WELLNESS & YOGA GROUP
Yoga Classes
The practice of yoga is well-demonstrated to reduce the physical effects of stress on the body. Practicing weekly, promotes healthy exercise, balance, and centeredness. The body responds to stress through a fight-or-flight response, which is a combination of the sympathetic nervous system and hormonal pathways activating and releasing cortisol – the stress hormone – from the adrenal glands. Cortisol is often used to measure the stress response. Yoga practice has been demonstrated to reduce the levels of cortisol. Most yoga classes end with savasana, a relaxation pose, which further reduces the experience of stress. Yoga enhances flexibility, breathing, strength and weight management.
HELPING MEN RECOVER GROUP
Men’s Group Program For Treating Addiction
Helping Men Recover covers 18 sessions focused on developing new skills and new ways of thinking about ourselves as men. During these group sessions, clients discuss issues revolving around men struggling with dependency, especially if they are experiencing alcohol and drug addiction. This group covers four recovery modules: Self, Relationships, Sexuality and Spirituality. Topics include: Self-awareness, impacts of family of origin, how men are socialized in society. Power, violence and abuse, healthy sexuality, spirituality, and other important topics are covered.
HELPING WOMEN RECOVER GROUP
Women’s Group Program For Treating Addiction
Each woman’s path of healing is unique, but most women find that it involves discovering our true selves, connecting healthy relationships, understanding our sexuality, and gaining a spiritual connection. During these group sessions, clients discuss issues revolving around women struggling with dependency, especially if they are experiencing alcohol and drug addiction. This group is organized into 4 modules: Self, Relationships, Sexuality, and Spirituality. These are the four areas women identify as triggers for relapse. They also represent the four areas of greatest change in their recoveries. Discussion topics include: Self-esteem, Sexism, Family of origin, Relationships, Interpersonal violence, sexuality and abuse, meditation, and relaxation. This group promotes healthy healing by connecting with all parts of the female self.
MINDFULNESS GROUP
DBT SKILLS
Addictive behaviors often result from loss, death, or broken relationship. Turning to alcohol or drugs to avoid pain only delays the healing process and can lead to a destructive cycle and feeling trapped. Mindfulness helps clients identify the root of their addictive behaviors while providing healthy coping strategies to deal with the stress, anxiety and depression that can come from experiencing a loss. Clients learn powerful mindfulness exercises and lifestyle tips. CCC clients learn to replace addictive behaviors in with new healthy behaviors that promote healing.
PEER SUPPORT RECOVERY
CO-ED GROUP
With this method, CCC clients receive treatment in a multi-faceted group alternating content on a three-week basis. The rotation includes processing check-ins and checking with a client and their weekly treatment progress and goals. Another week includes peer facilitated discussions and activities including therapist helping clients orchestrate their personalized success plans. The third week includes speaker advocacy for varying treatment modalities, resources, and methods. Promoting a fulfilling life in recovery, clients participate in the organization and structure of these group activities and group formats. In doing so, they become empowered and develop trust, self-reliance, and cohesion with others in the group structure.
RECREATION GROUP
ORGANIZED RECREATIONAL GROUP
Our Recreation Group is a treatment tool for substance abuse that focuses on the recovering person’s adaptation back into society. Substance abuse tends to cause a person to become introverted or distant from others that are not using drugs and alcohol. When someone is addicted to drugs and alcohol, they focus on making connections with those who are into the same things that they are. Relationships with family and friends tend to diminish, whereby the addiction becomes the focus of a person’s life. Organized Recreational Therapy helps change this focus by the exercising the following behaviors:
- Teaching the client to express feelings and communicate with others.
- Retraining the brain to release mood elevators during enjoyable activities.
- Introducing the client to sober and social environments.
- Helping the client regain interests and hobbies, and other healthy activities.
Recreational activities range from nature walks, indoor/outdoor exercise, meditation, hiking, BBQs, and picnics, etc.
