After receiving her bachelor’s degree in general studies with an emphasis in Family Science from Brigham Young University, Shauna went on to receive her master’s in counseling from Adams State University. Shauna is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate and a National Certified Counselor. Using a combination of mindfulness principles and cognitive, strengths-based therapeutic approaches, Shauna works with clients in a spirit of mutual respect and collaboration to identify negative thought patterns and personal beliefs that keep an individual stuck. Shauna’s goal is to provide each client in recovery with a safe, supportive environment and encourage them to keep trying as they implement healthier coping skills. Shauna believes that as individuals begin to feel stronger in recovery, they become more resilient and feel a sense of empowerment in their lives. They can rebuild trust in their relationships and start to feel hope again. Shauna believes that healthy relationships, self-compassion, and hope for the future are the key to growth and positive change.
